These pages are designed to enable Kelabits to share memories with other family members or with their fellow-Kelabits. It is meant to help form a link between Kelabits who live and work in the urban areas, and their relatives who live in the Kelabit heartlands. It will also, we hope, help our younger Kelabits learn more about, and keep in touch with, Kelabit culture. We are currently focussing on three main areas, songs, music and photographs.
We have no shortage of space. If you have any songs, music or photographs that you wish to share, just it to us as an attachment and we will put it up for you. If you know of any good singer or musician, living in your longhouse or in your town, let us know and we will try to arrange a recording session.

Songs and Music
Many of our old and traditional songs, as well as our old singers, have been lost. A few of the songs, some original, others modified in recent times, still remain.
An effort is now being made to record these songs, as sung by our older Kelabit men and women.
Such archival material, in high-quality digital format, cannot be made available here - being very large files, they will take too long to download. We will make these available on CD's at some later stage.
For the time being, however, we will place these recording on these pages in the mp3 format, so that they can be listened to on computers and on currently-fashionable mp3 players!

Photographs
We currently have a fairly large collection of photographs taken in Bario over the past several years, mostly on film, more recently in the digital format.
The images will be available for download, or viewing, in a series of galleries, each consisting of at least twelve pictures.
The images we have on film will take a bit longer since they have first to be scanned into a digital format.
Since there are quite a lot of them, it will be a slow and ongoing process.
Please bear with us, and visit this area regularly to see the latest pictures as they get loaded.
